Client: Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries
Service: Agricultural & Livestock Infrastructure / CSR & Environmental Stewardship
Location: Simailele–Katilu, Turkana County

Project Overview:
Turkana County—Kenya’s largest and one of its most arid—has long suffered from resource‑based conflicts over pasture and water. The Simailele Project was conceived by the Government of Kenya as part of a long‑term strategy to promote peace, sustainable livestock keeping, and drought mitigation.

Scope of Work:

  • Preparation of 20 hectares of land for pasture

  • Planting of drought‑resistant pasture grass

  • Perimeter fencing to protect the grazing ground

  • Establishment of a demonstration model for commercial pasture management

Outcome:
The project was successfully completed and handed over to the Ministry. It stands today as a beacon of what is possible when infrastructure meets community development. For Benyton, it was proof that no task is insurmountable, and that our work can contribute meaningfully to peace and stability.
